Why Trees are important And the story of Smokey the Bear

Hello world today I will be showing you a project we are working on in class. It’s about why trees are important to the world. We learned about the story of Smokey the Bear which I will tell you. In Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico a really hot and dry day. A careless person forgot to crush out his cigarette and a tiny leaf lit up and spread around the national forest. It got so bad they had to call in soldiers from Fort Bliss Texas to fight the fire. Eventually everyone beat the fire and they saw a burned bear cub still alive they took him to the doctor the doctor fixed him up and he became famous he got sent to his new home in Washington zoo.

  1. Trees provide shelter and food for wildlife.
  2. Trees are the longest living animals on earth and never die of age.
  3. Tree rings can predict climate change.
  4. Trees improve water quality.
  5. A large tree can lift 100 gallons of water.
  6. Trees produce oxygen 
  7. Earth has more than 60,000 tree species.
  8. Some trees have been to the moon.
  9. Trees can defend themselves from attacking insects.
  10. Trees can help you find your way in the woods.

Why is it important to learn about trees and forests and the benefits we receive from them? It is important to know about trees and forests because we get oxygen from them.
